We've been based in Basingstoke for a while, and, until now, we've made a rather large omission. We've had this Comedy section, but have we bothered to cover our local stand-up scene? Have we bollocks.
Never mind, though, we've begun the process of rectifying this by talking to Jan Jack. When we were investigating the comedy scene in our home town, it became clear that she was the person with her finger on the pulse. A stand-up, poet, comedy-writing teacher, and promoter of the Laughter House club, Jan has her figurative fingers in a selection of gourmet comedy pies.
Immersed as Jan is in the humour industry, we thought she was perfectly placed to give us the backstage perspective, so, we turned up at her house to eat her biscuits and get the gossip.
